The course is 6 days long divided in two meetings of 3 days each.
24th, 25th & 26th of February 2012.
28th, 29th & 30th of April 2012.
TOPICS
First weekend:
How dogs are designed by nature, and why
Why dogs behave like they do, and which problems it can cause
The emotions of dogs
The language of dogs; bodylanguage, vocal expressions, and how to read it and understand it.
How we can use their own language to communicate and be understood.
Practical handling
Stress and its consequences.
The coming of a new dog to the shelter
Second weekend :
Cases of shelter dogs and how they can be helped
Design of shelters for best possible comfort for the dogs
What we can do to improve the environment
Practical handling, exercise and training
The body construction of the dog and what to think about in daily life
How to plan for the rehoming. Which information to give the new owners, and making of leaflets, DVD and follow up in the new home.
Education of volunteers and staff
Health, nutrition and care, including equipment and bedding
Planning for the future: what do we want ?
The course will be in English and there will be translation to Spanish

TIMETABLE
From 9:30 to 13:00 & from 15:00 to 17:00 aprox.
People are welcome to arrive from 9:00 . All the assitants must come the first day at 9:00 for pick up their accreditation.
The assistance is without dog.
Please be on time.
At the end of the course you will recieve an attendance certificate.
